Procrastination

Today’s the day I do the THING!
By tomorrow, I’ll be through!
I’m pleased to say, it’s underway,
(for tomorrow, it is due)

What’s that you say, with such dismay?
I’ve only just begun?
Oh no, you see, these past few weeks
I’ve worked a metric ton!

I played, it’s true, a week or two;
An active mind is best.
And yes, I napped, I dozed and slept,
A mind needs time to rest!

Of course I watched my shows, as well;
A mind needs stimulation.
And every hour in the shower?
They need no justification.

Like modern manufacturers,
I operate just-in-time!
And time’s a precious input that
to waste would be a crime!

Procrastinate?! It’s not so late!
There's still some light in the sky!
What's that you say? It's the sunrise, eh?
My, how the time did fly...

And so, you see, it’s all to plan!
Was there ever any doubt?
